Well, it was nice to see I posted 3 times in October, tripling my output from September. Ha ha. I think it's a combination of feeling relatively bored or burnt out, and not having anything interesting to write about. Anyway, some stuff has been happening, so here we go.
My Halloween Shindig went really well last weekend. There were less people than last year, but I knew 99% of them instead of 50%. That was cool. I got multiple compliments on my playlist... five and a half hours of 80's music. Also cool. Most people who came actually dressed up. Wicktastic. And because less people came than I had planned for, I have a WHOLE LOT of alcohol for the rest of the semester (possibly for the Throat Culture cast party too). Normally I get really nervous about these parties, but not so much this year... everything fell into place really nicely. I had a New Wave thing going on, with blue fingernails, skinny black tie, headband sunglasses, Swatch watch, and my original Sony Walkman complete with those crappy headphones. Fun.
For Halloween proper, I went to a party at an unoccupied house scheduled for demolishing. This sounds like it would have been cool, and it might have been if I had actually known anyone there besides the person who invited me, but I didn't, and so I left after an hour, my reused-New-Wave-costume tail between my legs, and hung out with Mark with some SSX3 and an ep of Alias. Woo hoo!!! I'm a party ANIMAL!
Had a bunch of fun yesterday though. I went to the Korean supermarket with my friends and bought vegetable dumplings and giant Pocky and fish cakes and red bean buns and wasabi peas and those chocolate koala things, among other goodies. Tammy got herself some Hello Kitty eyeshadow... she's clearly 8 years old. And then we went to the Ambassador tres ex-pon-seeve Indian restaurant, ate and drank our way into an incredibly large bill, and headed over to One World Cafe for more drinks. Excellent long night... best I've had in months. Spent a LOT of money over the course of one day, but it was definitely worth it.
Oh, and my poetry has evidently gotten better this semester... more poems to shop around to the journals... we'll see where I am at the end of the year with revisions, and take it from there.
