a turning point

So instead of moving to Pennsylvania, Lisa is now my roommate. I already miss Mark though. He came down with his brother on Thursday to move out, and the whole Jennings crew came over. We had an awkward moment just before he left where I thought I might hug him but didn't, and I got a bit made fun of by my other friends after he walked out the door.

But now Lisa has halfway moved into Mark's old room, even though for some reason I haven't seen her since I came back down from Jersey on Thursday. Hopefully I will before she goes to sleep tonight since it's the first night she's sleeping at my apartment.

Wait, Dave... why aren't you posting from your apartment? I don't actually have internet access at my place for the next week, as I move over from Earthlink to Verizon DSL. Besides costing half as much, Verizon is really a lot more reliable in this area, and as a bonus will be upgrading to a 3meg download speed in a couple months. That is going to rock. My DVD burner will not stop spinning when that happens.

Yes, things are getting interesting.

bye bye buggy (and marky)

There are no more cicadas crawling out of the ground at night... now we just have to wait for the ones left in the trees to finally die. Hooray! Die bugs die!

Mark called to let me know that this is his last month: he's moving out for real now. So it looks like I'll be living alone for at least another year. Oh well.

I saw Shrek 2 and the new Harry Potter flick. Both very good. Especially Shrek 2: loving that Antonio Banderas Puss 'n Boots, and running from one Starbucks to the one across the street. Very cool directing in HP. I definitely dug the increased motion in paintings and photographs. Trippy.

Started playing a MUD, and I hate myself and feel dirty for doing it. Ugghh. Maybe more on this embarrassment in the future if I decide to keep it up. Hopefully not.

I've been writing some songs for Throat Culture, a parody and some originals. My first ones since my musical, and that was over a year ago now. I'm so excited... writing songs is such a different enterprise than writing poetry, and I should do it more often. Everybody should. La la la la la.

Speaking of songs, I read the lineup for Karaoke Revolution 2, and I'm pumped. All I can say though is that they better put Jenny 867-5309 on KR3. There's only so many times I can sing it in the shower without being validated by the KR scoring system. Verify me! Please! My name is my passport!!
